If you are interest in either the LifeSpan TR1200i or the Schwinn 830 Treadmill but need more information to help you decided which is the better buy then our side-by-side comparison below should help you understand which model is of higher quality.

Before we begin we want to qualify this review. If you are looking for information on certain extras and accessories that come with each model then isn’t the right type of review for you to read.

Instead, the following comparison focuses on the core features of a treadmill which best determine OVERALL QUALITY of these machines. Before buying any model we recommend reviewing information on these following five core areas:

  • Motor
  • Frame
  • Tread Belt
  • Cushion System
  • Warranty

After narrowing down your choices based on these 5 areas then look at the different extras and accessories offered to make your final decision.

Explaining the above specifications

Which models wins in the LifeSpan TR1200i vs. Schwinn 830 Treadmill competition?

Comparing the specifications above there is an obvious winner. Do you see it?

If this is the first time you ever compared treadmills the winner may not be obvious. And what makes it even more difficult to judge is that as you go down the list from the motor to cushion system everything looks almost even.

Actually, if we only look from the motor to the cushion system the Schwinn 830 treadmills appears as the better model.

Look to the warranty for quality

However, to make the final decision on which model is the better buy it is important to read what the warranty of each of these model’s provide.for you to look at having a 2.75 horsepower CHP motor did look to have the early advantage compared to the smaller 2.5 horsepower motor of the LifeSpan treadmill.

The most important parts of the warranty are the guarantees on the motor and frame as the cost to replace these on with your own money would be significant.

The LifeSpan TR1200i provides lifetime coverage on both the motor and frame while the Schwinn 830 provides only 10 years.

Since almost all other treadmills in this price range also provide lifetime guarantees on the motor and frame we find it very suscept that the Schwinn model is not also providing this type of coverage.

So even though the Schwinn does have the large 2.75 hp motor we would have to steer clear of this model because the warranty tells us the company doesn’t stand strongly behind the quality of their machine.

Read our overall review of the TR1200i or here you can find a list of other model’s we have compared it to.
