Can a taller 6-2 person use the Welso Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill

by Jack on March 8, 2016

If you are looking for more information on this model, we have rated and reviewed the Welso Cadence G 5.9 treadmill.  Here we will address one specific question we received about the model.

A person 6 foot 2 inches tall wonder if the track was too small (in length) for him to use.

Track size (or belt) usually is one area that decreases when you go from expensive to more affordable or cheaper models.

The dimensions of this model’s tread belt are: 16 inches wide by 50 inches in length. A person 6 foot tall or more should have absolutely no problem walking or jogging on this model. But please realize this model does have a weight capacity of 275 pounds.

Can a 6 foot tall person run on a 50-inch long belt? First let us say this, what you buy is up to you, we are only here giving our opinions. Our opinion on buying the Welso Cadence G 5.9 treadmill, we would not recommend this model to people who are wanting to buy a home model for running.

Why we do not recommend this for runners? The track being 50-inches in length this is a little short for runners but it could work for small or shorter people. But we do like to see 54 inches or more in length when it comes to being a model fit for running. With that said, the length (or lack of) of the track isn’t the most significant reason why we wouldn’t recommend this model to runners. The most significant reason – is the size and power of the motor. In our opinion the size and horsepower output (2.25 HP) is not enough.

The specifications say – this motor can produce speeds of 10 MPH (6 minute mile pace). While this might be true, we think over long term use, running this smaller motor at top speed will end up signficately shortening the lifetime of the motor.

The bottom line – The original question was whether or not a person over 6 feet tall would have a problem using the Welso Cadence G 5.9 treadmill, based on its tread belt size of 50-inches in length. Walking or jogging this should not create a problem. However, when recommending a model for runners we do like to see a longer track than 50-inches. But that is besides the point here since we do not recommend this model as a model to buy for running.
