Experience With Confidence Power Plus Motorized Electric Treadmill

If you are looking for information on the Confidence Power Plus Motorized Electric Treadmill, the following review will give you our personal experience with this model. We will also go over the main features it provides and whether or not we recommend this model.

There’s no other way to put it, this is a cheap treadmill, it’s not completely useless or a pile of junk but if you have looked at other treadmills you will agree this is one of the cheaper models on the market.

Currently (2015-2016) this is one of the lowest priced models that actually has a motor, the next step down would be manual treadmills, these require the user to provide the energy to move the tread belt.

About the Motor and Running

OK, so this model does include a motor but don’t think you will hop on and run a sprint. The motor is very small, 600W and not very powerfully. However, the top speed may be adequate for some people’s workout plans.

How fast can you run a mile?

The speed is controlled by pushing the + and – buttons found on the center console. There are ten speed settings, each time you push the + button the speed of the tread belt increases by 0.6 MPH.

So, this treadmill has a top speed of just over 6 MPH. This is equal to about a 10 minute mile. How fast do you need?

This should definitely be fast enough to satisfy the needs of walkers, even most joggers or people who need a machine for weight loss or general fitness.

Keep in mind. This 600W electric motor is not powerful, keeping the speed setting at the highest level will burn it out quicker.

Not recommended: If you are a hardcore runner needing to run better than a 10 minute mile. See our home page for more affordable options.

Available in Black and Pink

Room to run or walk

Besides the motor, another very important feature you will need to consider is the size of the tread belt or walking/running area.

Walkers, need less space than runners. People with shorter legs need less space than people with longer legs.

The belt or runway size: 38.5 x 14.

That’s 38.5 inches in length and 14 inches in width. This is smaller platform. I am 6-2 inches tall, I was able to walk on it, I was also able to take a lazy short-stride jog. I was not comfortable running at the highest speed setting, my strides were a bit too long.

Most people take short enough strides when walking or jogging.

Other features to be aware of

Incline – No. The models platform is set at a slight incline but this is not adjustable.

Folding – Yes. It does have the ability to fold-up for people needing to save on space. It also has wheels on the bottom making to fairly easy to move around. The weight of this model is about 49 pounds.

Weight Capacity – 250 lbs.

Loud – From our experience, when you do turn it on it does beep two or three times. These beeps are somewhat loud but when walking on it, it runs smooth and doesn’t make much noise. The majority of customer reviews we have read agree with our experience. However, there a few that have claimed it was loud. Not sure why the differences in opinions exist. Some people may be more sensitive to sound or maybe they didn’t do a good job assembling the product, which caused it to operate more noisy.

The Bottom Line

Do we recommend the Confidence Power Plus Motorized Electric Treadmill? We definitely don’t IF you are looking for a machine to run on.

Although it is rated for people weighing up to 250 lbs. We do not think this is a good buy for someone who is up around the maximum weight capacity. I test this model, weighing 220 pounds. Although I was able to walk fine and go for a slow jog I did get the feeling that my weight might pose a problem and wear it out over long-term use.

We think this would be best for people 200 lbs and under. And also, the shorter your strides are the more comfortable you will be using this.

Recommended for walking and light jogging. The maximum pace this treadmill can be set at it 6 MPH. If you want to use this top speed on a regular basis, over time we think this would really push the durability of this treadmill. The lighter you are the better this will work for you.
