How fast can you run on the LifeSpan TR1200i treadmill

by Jack on November 10, 2016

The latest question came from a person wanting to buy a home treadmill for his family to run on in their basement. They specifically want to know how fast of a pace (MPH) the LifeSpan TR1200i was capable of producing.

We have written much information this LifeSpan folding treadmill, besides reviewing of this model, we also compared it side by side to other treadmills which are similar in price.

Do we recommend it for running?

It is far from the best choice on the market but yes we would recommend it in certain circumstances as a decent choice for runners. The main factor would be how much money you are willing or can spend.

This is one of the less expensive options suitable for running currently on the market (2016-2017). The person asking the question at the top of the page wants to know how fast it will go.

Meaning what’s the top pace (MPH) it can set for runners.

The LifeSpan TR1200i treadmill includes a 2.5 horsepower motor capable of produce speeds between 0.5-11 MPH. So if you were running at top speed 11 MPH this would be a 5 minute 45 second mile pace.

Another thing that goes hand-in-hand when looking to buy a model for running are the dimensions of the tread belt (exercise platform) the platform of this model is 56-inches long which provides room for the longer strides of a runner.

Overall, for the price we do like the TR1200i. However, as we said this is not the absolute best model you can buy. See how it compares to other similarly priced models.
