Incline adjustment of the NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill

by Jack on December 8, 2016

We recently received a question about the incline function on the NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill. The person was wonder if the incline worked electronically through push button controls on the center console or if this model required the users to manual adjust the incline.

Below is an image of the center console found on this NordicTrack treadmill model. If you look to the “bottom-left” you will notice the push button controls for automatic incline adjustment.

In other words, to adjust the incline settings of this treadmill this does not require getting off the machine to manually adjust the settings. All that will be required is using the “up-down” push button controls as seen in the image above.

More about the Incline

Many very cheap treadmills do not provide the ability to incline. Then among the models that do provide this function there is a range of quality. The lowest quality models are those which require the user to manually adjust the incline setting.

Then to further judge the quality of the models which do allow the user to adjust the setting from the buttons controls found on the center console you should be aware that some models are able to incline to a steeper maximum grade compared to others.

The NordicTrack T 6.5 S treadmill provides a maximum of 10% grade increase. (See our Review)

Other models (usually more expensive) will allow steeper increases from 12-15% or more. This is not to say that all treadmills with the ability to adjust to a steeper grade incline are thousands of dollars more. One similarly priced model to this NordicTrack model is the LifeSpan TR1200i which does have the ability to increase to the steeper 15% grade. (See how these two models compare).
