Merax JK1603E Treadmill how fast will it go

by Jack on February 15, 2018

We received a question about the Merax JK1603E Easy Assembly Folding Electric Treadmill. The question was about the speed of this model.

The question was from a fellow who was looking for an inexpensive treadmill to bring into his home, he wanted to make sure the cheap model he bought would be able to handle his daily workouts (walking 1 mile and jogging 1 mile per day).

On a previous treadmill he owned, he walked at a 2 MPH pace and jogged at 4 MPH.

He forgot his height and weight

We tried to email him back. To be able to answer his question accurately we also need to know his height and weight.

But this general answer may help you if you are interested in Merax JK1603E Treadmill.

First, will this treadmill be able to handle walking at 2 MPH and jogging at 4 MPH as a daily workout routine?

Yes, this treadmill is capable of running at speeds between 0.62 – 6.2 MPH.

Warning – The motor is only 500 W, which is a fairly small. While it can handle 2 MPH and 4 MPH speeds we would not recommend amping it up to the maximum speed of 6.2 MPH this will not be good for the life of the motor.

Why we needed height and weight

This treadmill has a weight capacity of 220 lbs. So if the guy asking the questions was over 220 lbs. we would not recommend this model to him.

Also important is height. Taller people have longer stride lengths. This treadmill exercise platform is 44 inches long.

A person 6 feet or taller might (probably will) find jogging on this treadmill a bit restrictive.

Read our review over this model if you need more information.
