ProForm Treadmill Reviews

Below you will find tables describing the different ProForm treadmills available along with links to more in depth reviews of each model. The ProForm brand is owned by the ICON health and fitness equipment company. ICON also owns the NordicTrack brand. So if you ever compare models within these two brands, while differences do exist, but because of common ownership, there are also many similarities.

Pro Series

Within the ProForm Pro Series you will find three different treadmill (Pro 2000, 5000 and 9000) models. This series, along with the Boston Marathon models are the most advanced but also the most expensive. The Pro Series have both large horsepower motors and running platforms, as well as, 15% incline and -3% decline.

We would recommend these models to those wanting a good home treadmill for running.

As mentioned above, all three Pro Series treadmills listed on the table above are recommend for running. When buying a home treadmill for running there are two very important attributes you should first focus on. These are the motor and tread belt. Not to say these are the only things to focus on but the motor and tread belt are very important. The reason why? If these two attributes do not meet certain minimum requirements having anyhting of quality which will last over the long term.

As a rule of thumb

As a rule of thumb, the motor should be at least 2.5 horsepower (HP) and the tread belt at least 55-inches in length. These are the minimum requirements. By reading the table above you can see all three models in the ProForm Pro Series exceed these minimum requirements.

There are good choices made by different companies. Whether or not you decide to buy any one of the models listed above, if you want something decent to run on, remember, the rule of thumb of at least 2.5 HP motor and 55-inch tread belt length.
